Every year, more than one million visitors will pass through the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee. An ambitious project has recently been undertaken by the Hall of Fame to create a walkway of stars engraved with the names of country music superstars. Fan clubs from around the country for multitudes of artists have banded together to ensure that their star is not left behind. The BillyHeads are no different. We spoke with the Senior Vice President in charge of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Ms. Diana Johnson, and set a tentative cost of $5000. We quickly requested and received the approval of Tim McFadden, Senior Vice President of Billy's management company, RPM Management, and began collections for the project, even though the timetable for creation of the star has been estimated at no sooner than 2003. While certainly the BillyHeads' most ambitious project to date, it should also prove to be one of the most rewarding ones. Once again we have an outstanding opportunity to show our appreciation for Billy, and to do so in a permanent way that many thousands of people a year will enjoy. The initial support of the BillyHeads members has been tremendous, and we hope for it only to increase as the deadline draws nearer. In our previous endeavors, we have always managed to collect significantly more money than was needed to cover the cost of the project. If the same holds true, we will keep with tradition and donate the excess money to one of Billy's favorite charities, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, in Billy's name. If you would like more detailed information about the project, and up-to-the minute updates to our totals and the progress of the creation of the star itself; or, if you would like to participate in the project in a method that does not require sending any money, please visit these links for more information:
